Are You There?

Lonely

‘Lonely’ by Sangeetha Bansal

Tell me, whisper it,
I’m aching to know,
is it a yes
or a definite no?
Find me in my dreams
and make it known,
’cause I think of you far more
than I have carefully shown.

Do you still think of me
now that there’s no tomorrow,
when ‘we’ means absolutely nothing
and memories bring painful sorrow?

Do you still love me
now that you cannot stand me,
’cause we don’t talk to each other anymore,
about as distant as we can be?

Do you still hold me,
now that I’m out of your reach,
and our vow to love each other
has come to a ghastly breach?

Do I still matter
now that you have a wife,
and old things have passed away,
and you love your new life?

If you tell me in my dreams,
I’ll know if it’s true,
and if you say it’s a no,
I won’t feel so blue.
I miss you and love you,
and although I’ve grown,
if you say it’s a yes,
I won’t feel so alone.

For My Lady

Free Julian ‘Innocent’ Assange

Julian Assange

The USA must drop the charges against Julian Assange now! Stop hurting him, God damn! Julian has done nothing wrong by utilitarian, common-sense standards, which comes before any other, especially the haphazard decisions of a select few- otherwise known as ‘the powers that were.’

Common sense, justice, and truth should be regarded as supreme, regardless of the fear of anything- the apparent worst being death, greed, and myopia.

When You Do Clownery?

The words of Saint Monique could never be untrue- “When you do clownery, the clown comes back to bite.”

I have made these words my motto and guide for life. When you do Foolish Things, you very quickly bear their first name.

The imagery is just as amusing and it is terrifying. Imagine wearing a clown’s costume for a few hours, with the freedom to do whatever you want- whatever. Then you take it off, and sooner than later, the lifeless costume becomes full of life, gets up, hops towards you, and bites you in the ass (or worse still, some other sensitive area). Oooh! It makes me shiver.

I suppose the lesson for the hour is to think thrice before doing anything. It is restricting, but I would take temporary restriction over long-lasting embarrassment/damage. The latter is a bit more unhealthy for the ego than the former. ‘Wisdom is profitable to direct.’

Sun-Child

Sun Child

You’re quite eccentric,
aren’t you, sun-child?
This minute, you’re wild,
moments later, you’re mild,
something changes about the previous way
in which you smiled,
as if you have a switch with which
you control your lights.
It used to make me cry,
now I’m somewhat beguiled.

No one can make you the sun
they want you to be,
there’s more to you
than anyone can see,
you’re true to yourself
and that’s awesome by me,
and even if you turn red or green
or the colour of the sea,
as long as you are happy
and as long as you are free,
I would still be proud of you,
do you hear, sun-child?

Beautiful

Beautiful

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
literally.
If you can sincerely find
someone or something else beautiful,
especially one that is often considered otherwise,
without an iota of doubt,
you are beautiful too.

I am You

I am a long poem;
you read parts of me often.
I find bits of me in my thoughts;
you find bits of you in my words.
You read my voice in your voice;
you see your words in my words.
It’s your whole truth sometimes,
and sometimes, it is not.
I am you sometimes,
and sometimes, I am not,
and at other times,
you are not exactly sure.

Inaction is the Right Action

Sometimes, all you have to do is nothing,
because if you do something,
everything you do will result
in what you should have done-
your actions will give you nothing.

You have to be patient enough to let things unfold on their own.

My mum bought lots of magic towels years ago. You would put them in water and watch them unfold/increase in size.

Many things are like magic towels. If you try to stretch them out or assist them in the way that they develop/turn out, you’ll “tear” (destroy) them, ruin the magic (and hurt yourself).

Get your bucket of water- do all that you think is right, sit, and be patient.

Beautifool

Painted by Konstantin Razumov

Do they have beautiful faces
but ugly minds?
Well, you can call them beautifools.

They only make friends with Mirrors-
friends who don’t care about the soul,
friends who don’t care about the real self,
vain friends who are as blind as bats.

Why do I call them Mirrors?
Mirrors only tell you how beautiful you look;
they don’t tell you how beauty-full you are.

Beautifools place mirrors in their bags,
and walk with mirrors by their sides.
They only see what they want to see
and hear only what they want to hear.

True beauty lies in the heart;
don’t be a beautifool,
and don’t make friends with one.

Even if you are not full of beauty,
since no one is,
be yourself,
but be the best you that you can be.

True beauty comes from the heart;
through the mouth and the hands.
Let your beauty be perceived;
let your beauty be seen.

More to the Land than You Sea

The happy people are sad;
the sane people are running mad.
The rich people are poor;
we all need more than just more.
There is more to everything than you see;
there is more to every land than we can sea.

Words II

Words are fragile,
and the consequences of dropping them
are very heavy,
especially on hardly-skeptical
“I believe everything” minds.

On the list of things that
should never be misused,
they come first.

Words open as many eyes as they shut.
They’ve permanently restored sights,
and at the same time,
caused too many to go blind.

Be careful of what you say and hear.
